Dream - The grave is a place of waiting for humans before they are resurrected and their deeds are accounted for in the Field of Mahsyar. Humans will receive an initial punishment in the grave in the form of a severe torment. The grave is described as a cold, narrow, lonely, and full of torment place. However, if the good deeds brought by the deceased are more than the bad deeds, humans will receive blessings.
The following is the translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any HTML tags: "The deceased person awaits prayers from the living in order to obtain Allah's forgiveness and be saved from punishment in the grave. There are four things that will save a person in the grave. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has warned his people about the torment of the grave."
"(HR. Ahmad)" translates to "(Narrated by Ahmad)" in English.
Sheikh Nawawi Al-Bantani in the book Syarah Sulami At-Taufiq mentions 4 things that save humans in the grave. He quotes a statement from some of the Ahli Fadhilah, "whoever wants to be saved from the torment of the grave must always do these four things and avoid these four things."
Always maintain the five obligatory prayers. Increase in giving charity. Read the Quran every day, one of which is to consistently read Surah Al-Mulk. Increase in saying tasbih (remembrance of Allah).
"Lying, betraying, enjoying provoking others. Disgusting from splashes of urine. Because, most of the torment of the grave is caused by carelessness towards the splashes of filth from urine."
In Islam, the punishment of the grave is depicted as extremely terrifying. The condition in the grave is exemplified by the pressure of the soil from both sides that presses on the deceased. There is no way to save oneself except through the deeds that have been done during one's lifetime. Meanwhile, some of the deceased will receive relief from the pressure of the grave due to the mercy and compassion of Allah SWT. The pressure in the grave feels like the loving embrace of a mother.
There is a practice that can alleviate the pressure in the grave, which is to recite Surah Al-Ikhlas when sick before death approaches. Therefore, hopefully when death comes, we are among those who remember and recite Surah Al-Ikhlas at least once before passing away.
After a person is buried, the family and relatives leave the cemetery, then the deceased is visited by two questioning angels of the grave, namely Munkar and Nakir. These two angels come in a frightening form. Their bodies are black with their eyes bulging as if ready to torture the grave's inhabitant. Then these two angels ask the deceased about the matters of truth. If the answer is not correct, the club they bring will fly towards the body of the deceased.
That is the 4 things that save humans in the grave along with a description of the torment of the grave that can be a reminder for humans. If until now you still often do bad things, it's time to repent immediately and increase good deeds.
Allah gives problems to humans not without reason, but as a test to increase their faith and soul.
