Bertha Yalter (71), a woman from North Miami, Florida, was accused of attacking and attempting to kill her husband after receiving a postcard from a woman in Turkey whom he dated six decades ago.

Reported by Oddity Central, Bertha faced charges of attempted murder and assault against someone aged 65 and above. She was accused of attacking her husband in a state of anger, attempting to suffocate the elderly victim with a pillow. Bertha heartlessly committed this heinous act after discovering that her husband had received a postcard from a Turkish woman whom he had dated 60 years ago.

The action caused the man to appear weak, with bruises and open wounds on both arms and his abdomen, as well as bloody bite marks. According to several sources, Bertha was angry after her husband admitted to replying to a postcard from an old friend, but that does not justify her violent reaction.

The female lawyer said to the journalists, the elderly couple involved in a regrettable argument. However, it should not be necessary to prosecute them for attempted murder. On the other hand, a state lawyer explained that smothering with a pillow is indeed an attempted murder.

"I think she also admitted to urinating on her husband," said the state attorney. "So, in my opinion, if you look at the whole situation, it seems to be more than just a murder," he added.

Regardless of the original statement, he now denies being suffocated with a pillow and claims that he is "fine". The police mentioned that there is a video of the incident on the phone, which will be used as evidence to clarify what actually happened.
