Jota expressed that his attention is focused on the teachings of Islam applied by his friend's family. According to him, the Islamic teachings he sees are very touching because they treat everyone with respect and love.

Through a family event of his friend from Kuwait, Faisal Buresli, Jota witnessed firsthand how Muslims treat everyone well. Another reason that opened the heart of the former Spanish football player to embrace Islam is his friendship with Buresli, which has been established for more than a decade. With the invitation of his friend, Jota finally uttered the Shahada and officially became a Muslim.

"I am very happy and feel more enthusiastic. I feel like I am experiencing the best moments in life. I love his family very much (Buresli family)."

He said to Al-Qabas after the procession of reciting the Shahada.

Jota said he wants to invite his family and future generations to embrace the Islamic tradition that he witnessed at the Buresli house. Because, according to him, that moment was what changed his life and made him decide to convert to Islam.

Jota's Career Path

As information, Jota is a former football player who started his career at Celta de Vigo in 2010, before being loaned to Real Madrid from 2012 to 2013. After that, he joined SD Eibar in the 2013 to 2014 season. Jota gained more experience while staying in England. It started when he joined Brentford FC from 2014 to 2017. After that, he played for Birmingham City from 2017 to 2019. He then joined Aston Villa from 2019 to 2020.

"Deciding to Retire"

At the end of his career, Jota played for Deportivo Alaves in 2021. He nearly signed a contract with a Saudi Arabian League team in October 2022, but he ultimately decided to retire.
