Anton tells, he has been building a business ecosystem for the development of local brands for 14 years. "I started it from a music festival which was then combined with a fashion festival. It was inspired by traditional markets or surprise markets that are often held in the middle of Indonesian society," said Anton. In the beginning, only about 5,000 people attended the festival. However, this year, a similar event was able to attract 177 thousand spectators. "We have built an ecosystem for a thousand local brands," Anton said.

From his 14 years of experience, Anton mentioned that local brands that are able to penetrate the global market are products that have their own uniqueness (Indonesian culture), are unique, new, and different from similar products. "Whether they should enter the global market depends on each brand and designer. They have their own strategies," said Anton.

According to Anton, many local brands are actually more confident in developing the potential of the local market, which is considered very large, namely the 270 million population of Indonesia. "But, indeed, there are several local t-shirt brands that have entered the local market. This is an extraordinary step," said Anton. Another speaker, Creative Director of Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) Andandika Surasetja agrees that the quality of products from local brands is not inferior to those made abroad.

"For conceptual brands, they need an even wider market to penetrate the global market. Until now, the development of such brands only exists in big cities," said Anton. According to Andandika, in order to penetrate the global market, local brands must have a good business ecosystem and support each other's ecosystems. "In JFW, this has been well woven. However, efforts like this must continue to be sustained," said Andandika.
