In the petition, Jokowi was criticized for his leadership style that was deemed to have deviated and violated the rules of good governance. The following is the content of the Bulaksumur UGM Petition for Jokowi: We regret the deviant actions that have actually occurred during the administration of President Jokowi, who is also part of the larger family of Gadjah Mada University (UGM). Ethical violations in the Constitutional Court, the involvement of law enforcement officers in various ongoing representative democracies, and contradictory statements justifying the involvement of public officials in political campaigns, as well as neutrality and bias, are manifestations of deviation and indifference to democratic principles.

President Joko Widodo, as an alumnus, should hold on to the identity of UGM that upholds the values of Pancasila by also strengthening democratization to ensure it runs according to high moral standards and can achieve the goal of forming a legitimate government in order to continue the leadership relay to realize noble aspirations as stated in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution.

President Joko Widodo should always remember his promise as an alumnus of Gadjah Mada University. "For us, alma mater, I promise loyalty. I fulfill the duty to Motherland. In your unity, the soul of my entire nation is upheld. Uphold your culture, the glory of the archipelago." Instead of practicing the duty to alma mater by upholding Pancasila and striving to realize its values, President Jokowi's actions actually demonstrate deviations from the principles and moralities of democracy, people's sovereignty, and social justice, which are the essence of Pancasila values.

Because of that, through this petition, we, the entire academic community of UGM, request, urge, and demand all law enforcement agencies and all state officials and political actors behind the President, including the President himself, to immediately return to the corridor of democracy and prioritize the values of democracy and social justice. We also urge the DPR and MPR to take a stance and concrete steps in response to various political upheavals that have occurred during the electoral democracy party, which is a manifestation of Pancasila democracy, to ensure the upright and dignified continuation of people's sovereignty with better quality.
