Dream - When Dream's friends hear the news of someone's passing, they will surely immediately say "innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun". In fact, this expression is always placed at the top of the announcement letter for the deceased. However, "innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun" is not only said when they find out someone has passed away. In other situations, Dream's friends are also encouraged to say this phrase.

The sentence is actually in Al-Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 156. الذين إذا اصابتهم مصيبة، قالوا إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون. Allaazhīna iżā aṣābat-hum muṣībah, qālū innā lillāhi wa innā ilaihi rājiʿūn. The meaning is: "Those who, when disaster strikes them, say, 'Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.'"

The sentence is also called the sentence of istirja' or tarji which is spoken to indicate patience or recognition to Allah SWT. Where Allah SWT is One or Esa who gives everything, and Allah SWT is also entitled to take it and test mankind. So, as Muslims, we can only surrender to Him and be grateful for everything that Allah SWT has given.

By saying the phrase "innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun," it proves that the Dream friend is sincere and content with the decree of Allah SWT. Whether it is the decree that is determined for oneself, family, wealth, or life.

When a disaster occurs or when hearing about a disaster. When remembering a disaster, even if it has passed a long time ago. When struck by a worldly or religious disaster, be it big or small. For example, forgetting the Quran. When hearing that someone has passed away. So, the phrase "innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun" is not only said when someone has passed away. But it can also be said in other conditions, one of them is when experiencing or hearing about a disaster.

"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un, wa inna ila rabbina lamunqalibun, allahummaktubhu 'indaka fil muhsinin, waj'al kitabahu fi 'illiyyiin, wakhlufhu fi ahlihi fil ghabirin, wa la tahrimnaa ajrahu wala taftinna ba'dahu. Artinya: "Verily, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. And indeed, it is to our Lord that we shall return. O Allah, write him among the righteous. Make his record in 'illiyyin. And replace him among his family in the highest level of Paradise. And do not deprive us of his reward nor test us after him."

Replace it in his family from those who leave. Do not forbid him to us his rewards and do not tempt us after that.

"Yaa Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, heal him and pardon him. Honor his dwelling place and expand his entry. Cleanse him with water, snow, and hail. Purify him from sins as a white garment is cleansed from dirt. Replace his home with a better home, his family with a better family, and his spouse with a better spouse. Enter him into Paradise and protect him from the torment of the grave, his trials, and the torment of the Fire."

And honor his dwelling place, expand it. And honor his dwelling place, expand its entrance, cleanse it with clear and cool water, and purify it from all sins like a clean white garment from dirt, and replace his house with a better one than what he left behind, and a better family than what was left behind, and a better wife than what was left behind. Enter him into paradise, and protect him from the torment of the grave and his slander, and from the torment of the fire of hell.

Allaahummaghfir laha warham ha wa’aafi ha wa’fu anha wa akrim nuzula ha wa wassi’ madkhola ha waghsil ha bil maa-i wats-tsalji wal barodi wa naqqi ha minal khothooyaa kamaa yunaqqots tsaubul abyadlu minad danasi wa abdil ha daaron khoiron min daari ha wa ahlan khoiron min ahli ha wazaujan khoiron min zaoji ha wa adkhil hal jannata wa ‘aidz ha min ‘adzaabil qobri wafitnati hi wa min ‘adzaabin naar. Translation: "O Allah, forgive her, have mercy on her, heal her, pardon her, honor her accommodation, expand her entrance, wash her with water, snow, and hail, purify her from sins as a white garment is purified from dirt, replace her house with a better house, her family with a better family, her spouse with a better spouse, admit her into Paradise, and protect her from the punishment of the grave, the trials of life, and the torment of the Hellfire."

Meaning: "O Allah, forgive, have mercy, free, and release him/her. Honor his/her place of residence, expand it. Honor his/her entrance, cleanse him/her with clear and cool water, and purify him/her from all sins like a clean white garment free from dirt. Replace his/her home with a better one than what he/she left behind, and a better family than what he/she left behind, and a better spouse than what he/she left behind. Enter him/her into paradise, protect him/her from the torment of the grave and from his/her trials, and from the torment of the hellfire."
