Dream - Several Alaska Airlines passengers experienced bleeding in their ears after the door of the plane they were aboard came off during flight. They also felt an unperceived headache due to air pressure. This incident occurred when the plane was flying at an altitude of 16,000 feet on its way from Portland, Oregon, to Ontario International in California, United States on January 5, 2024.
The removal of the door caused a fairly large hole in the aircraft body. A boy sitting in the row closest to the door had his clothes torn due to the strong gust of wind. Out of the 171 passengers on Alaska Airlines flight 1282, all of them experienced terrifying symptoms while still in transit. As a result of this incident, six passengers and their relatives have now filed a class action lawsuit against Boeing, the maker of the 737 MAX 9, on behalf of everyone on board the aircraft.
Many passengers did not expect to survive. According to the lawsuit, some passengers hugged each other, while others sent messages to their loved ones.
A female passenger even claimed that her head felt like it was about to explode due to air pressure. Passengers were worried that they would not survive the flight.
The lawsuit further states that many passengers were emotionally traumatized as a result of the incident. Some continued to experience terror, fear of death or injury, worry, anxiety, reactions to sudden sounds, flashbacks, and reluctance to fly as a result of what happened.
"Worse yet, the lawsuit states that many oxygen masks appear to not be functioning. Flight attendants bring oxygen bottles to some passengers before the plane makes an emergency landing."

Meanwhile, in the initial report, it was mentioned that the suspicion of the detached panel on the 737 Max 9 aircraft was due to a loosened bolt.
