Dream - Aib is something within a person that should not be spread. Especially if the purpose is to bring down or defame that person. Realizing that as humans, we have all made mistakes. Well, those mistakes become aib or shortcomings that someone has. In Islam, regarding aib, it has been explained to keep it tightly closed. Both one's own aib and the aib of others.

In the Quran, aib is considered something that must be guarded and avoided, as it can damage a person's reputation and affect their social standing. In Islamic law, safeguarding dignity and staying away from aib is an important part of ethics and morality. Muslims are taught not to spread the aib of others and to maintain their own good name and purity.

Praying is one way to seek protection from Allah in safeguarding oneself from actions that may cause disgrace. Through prayer, Muslims are expected to gain strength and guidance from Allah to stay away from anything that may bring disgrace.

Rasulullah saw also gave guidance on this through several hadiths. Rasulullah saw said: "Every one of my ummah is forgiven, except for those who openly commit sins. And among those who openly commit sins is someone who commits sinful acts at night, and in the morning he says, 'O Fulan, yesterday I did this and that. Whereas, Allah had covered his sins and in the morning, he exposes what Allah had concealed." (Narrated by Bukhari Muslim)

In Surah Al-Hujurat verse 12, Allah says: "O believers, avoid most of suspicion, for indeed, some suspicion is sin. And do not spy or backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful."

From the above verse of the Qur'an, it is clearly stated that it is prohibited to spread the faults of others. In fact, Islam strongly forbids telling the faults of one's spouse. Therefore, in Islam, it is strictly forbidden to spread the faults of others and tell the faults of one's spouse.

According to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, keeping one's flaws hidden is a very important action because it can create a positive image for oneself or others. The Prophet also taught about the importance of preserving one's self-worth and avoiding behavior that harms others. The story of Imam Ahmad Hambali is also a valuable lesson, where he always kept his own flaws hidden even when faced with difficulties.

To effectively cover up shame in order to create a positive image, the first thing to do is to avoid behaviors that can cause shame. In addition, self-reflection regularly and increasing awareness of our own actions can also help in covering up shame. Always be cautious in acting, speaking, and behaving in front of others is also an effective way to maintain a positive image.

"Allah, I ask for your 'Afiyah (well-being) in this world and the hereafter. O Allah, I seek your 'Afwaa (forgiveness) and 'Afiyah in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, cover my faults. Then, the prayer to protect from exposing faults from the narration of Ibn Majah: "Allah, cover my faults and grant me security from my fears. O Allah, protect me from in front of me and from behind me, and from my right and my left, and from above me. I seek refuge in Your greatness from being overwhelmed from beneath me."

Translation: "Meaning: 'O Allah, cover my private parts (my flaws), calm me from my fears. O Allah, protect me from the front and back, right and left, and from below me. I seek refuge in Your greatness so that I am not destroyed from below me.'"
