Dream - Media Israel acknowledges that their country has lost in the war in Gaza Strip and failed to achieve their main goal of destroying Hamas. In an article published in the Jerusalem Post last Tuesday, it was stated that even if Israel managed to capture and occupy the city of Rafah, it still would not have been able to be accomplished.

The city of Rafah is claimed to be the location of dozens of large tunnels used by Hamas to smuggle weapons, ammunition, missiles, and vehicles, but it will not achieve their goals. The Jerusalem Post added that Hamas won on October 7th when its fighters embarrassed the Israeli military by attacking military bases, killing many Israeli citizens, and then returning to Gaza with the hostages.

According to the English-language daily newspaper with the largest circulation in Israel, Hamas' biggest victory is bringing the Palestinian issue back to the international agenda after years of being ignored. Hamas has also succeeded in isolating Israel in the international community. Hamas has also posed a threat to the US's grand plan to form an alliance between Israel and "moderate" Arab countries.

The newspaper questioned whether it makes sense for Israel to continue striving for unrealistic goals. Should they rather change direction and pursue something more achievable? If the second option is chosen, then Israel needs new leadership.

The report states that under the current government, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trapped by the demands of the most extreme elements in his cabinet. Netanyahu takes the hardest stance on everything, both domestically and internationally, and is likely unwilling to end the war.
