Jokowi regrets the personal attacks in the debate. He believes that it does not provide proper education.
"But if it attacks personally, privately, which has no connection to the context of last night's debate about international relations, about geopolitics, about defense and so on, I think it provides less education, less educating for the viewers."
He said.
Jokowi assesses that many people are disappointed with last night's debate. He urges for the debate format to be improved, so that the policies and visions of the presidential candidates are more visible.
"I think many people will be disappointed. Therefore, the debate indeed needs to be better formatted, there should be guidelines so that it is acceptable to attack each other but the policies, the vision being attacked should not be for the purpose of bringing each other down with personal motives. I think it is not good and not educating."

The General Election Commission (KPU) held the third presidential debate for the 2024 Presidential Election on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.
