By using sonar technology, scientists have successfully mapped the vast land. Researchers mentioned that the land area is estimated to be around 1.6 times the size of England. "We are talking about a landscape that is submerged quite deep, more than 100 meters below the current sea level," said Kasih Norman, an archaeologist at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia.

However, over time, this submerged land has largely been ignored, despite its massive size. Norman added that there is an assumption that the continent of Australia may not have been productive and not truly utilized by humans. "Although in fact, we have evidence from various parts of the world that humans once inhabited this continent in the past," said Norman.

For example, during the period between 71,000 and 59,000 years ago, the sea level was about 40 meters lower than it is today. The low sea level formed a series of islands on the outer northwest coast of the Australian continent. Then, between 29,000 and 14,000 years ago, there was another decrease in sea level, revealing the land again.

The discovery of this vast land is expected to provide new insights into the early human migration in the Australian region. By uncovering the existence of this 'lost Atlantis', researchers hope to obtain more information about the patterns of distribution and adaptation of ancient humans in the continent of Australia.
