Dream - Siamese twins are a rare phenomenon in which two individuals are born with partially or fully united bodies. They usually share certain body organs and often have connected circulatory or nervous systems.
The phenomenon occurs during embryo development, but imperfectly separated. Siamese twins present unique medical and social challenges, as well as attracting wide interest and attention from society and scientists. The uniqueness and complexity of this condition make Siamese twins an interesting subject of study in the fields of medicine, ethics, and humanity in general. Although the phenomenon of Siamese twins attracts the interest of many people, the reality is that the likelihood of Siamese twins living a long life is relatively small. However, this is different for Lori and George Schappell. The oldest Siamese twins in the world can live for decades.
"Lori and George Schappell passed away at the age of 62. Despite their fused skulls and shared brain parts, Lori and George Schappell defied predictions that they would not live beyond 30 years."
Translated text: "Reported by Independent, born as female twins, they also became the first same-sex conjoined twins identified as different genders when George revealed that he was transgender in 2007. The cause of their death has not been announced, but they passed away on April 7th. In 2022, they had become the oldest living conjoined twins in the world."
"After living independently since the age of 24, the twins embarked on a long journey and pursued different interests. George pursued a career as a country singer, while Lori became a successful tenpin bowler. Lori also worked in a laundry and supported her brother, who suffers from spina bifida, in their wheelchair journey."
Over the years, they have appeared in many documentary films and interview shows, as well as being guest stars in an episode of Nip/Tuck. This twin couple often expressed their desire to stay together. George once said in a documentary film in 1997, "Will we be separated? Impossible. I believe: why fix what isn't broken?"
After a quite long journey, Lori and George finally left their father, six siblings, several nephews, and many friends. Report: Khaira Amaliya.
These words may sound gentle, but they are actually quite piercing.
