Dream - A man with the initials JMW was arrested by the police for creating a fake website of Rabithah Alawiyah. The 24-year-old man forged the Rabithah website logo and offered certificates of being a habib or descendant of Prophet Muhammad SAW.
"Offering Habib Certificate"
Ditreskrimsus of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, stated that JMW offers to register names unofficially in Rabithah Alawiyah. The price offered for one name is Rp4 million.
"The site offers that if there is someone who wants their name to be registered in Rabithah Alawiyah, they can handle it through the backdoor (unofficial) route on the blogspot with a fee of Rp4 million per name. So that name can be recorded in the Rabithah Alawiyah organization."

It explains that they have clarified with Rabithah Alawiyah. Then, Rabithah Alawiyah confirmed that they only have one official website, which is https:\/\/rabithahalawiyah.org\/. Meanwhile, the one managed by JMW is a fake website.
Ade stated that JMW was arrested on February 28, 2024 at his residence in the Kalideres area, West Jakarta. In addition, his team also conducted a search on JMW's electronic devices.
"Secure Evidence"
Police secure a number of evidence such as laptops and smartphones containing digital traces of document transmission suspected of manipulating the logo and name of Rabithah Alawiyah.
Perpetrator Detained
JMW is designated as a suspect for violating Article 35 in conjunction with Article 51 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008.
Currently, JMW is detained at the Detention Center of the Metro Jaya Regional Police. However, Ade stated that they also plan to involve criminal and IT experts in further investigation.
