There are several signs that indicate that the Ramadan fast that we observe for one month is accepted by Allah SWT. Here are the signs:

1. Facilitated to Perform Sunnah Fasting after Ramadan

One sign that our Ramadan fasting is accepted by Allah SWT is being facilitated to perform voluntary fasting after Ramadan. In this case, it is fasting in the month of Shawwal. If Allah SWT accepts our deeds, then He will grant His guidance to perform other righteous deeds after the month of Ramadan.

This is explained by Ibnu Rajab Al-Hambali: "Fasting after Ramadan is a sign of the acceptance of fasting in the month of Ramadan. Indeed, if Allah accepts a servant's deed, then Allah grants him guidance to perform righteous deeds thereafter." As for those who do good deeds, then continue to do evil deeds, this becomes a sign of the rejection of the good deeds they have done.

2. Avoiding Unworthy Actions

The second sign that Ramadan fasting is accepted by Allah SWT is being prevented from reprehensible actions. For example, lying, backbiting, slander, and so on. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once said, "Whoever does not abandon false speech and continues to practice it, then Allah SWT does not need their fasting."

Besides that, it is also explained in the hadith narrated by Ibn Majah: "How many people fast but do not get anything except hunger and thirst."

3. Getting a Good Life

Other signs that Ramadan fasting is accepted by Allah SWT is getting a good life. He will feel peace in his life. All of that can be obtained because Allah SWT has guaranteed it. As explained in the words of Allah SWT in Surah An-Nahl verse 97:

"Whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female and is a believer, then indeed, We will give them a good life and will reward them with a better reward than what they have done."
