Dream - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially inaugurated Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), the Chairman of the Democratic Party, as the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR) at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
This is based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 34/P Year 2024 regarding the Dismissal and Appointment of Ministers of the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet for the Period of 2019-2024.
"Join the Government"
The inauguration signifies a shift in the political position of the Democratic Party. After nearly 10 years outside of the government, the Democrats have now officially joined the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin administration structure.
Appointed Together with Hadi Tjahjanto as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs.
AHY fills the position of Hadi Tjahjanto who shifted positions to become Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs. Both were inaugurated at the same time, they took the oath of office guided by President Jokowi.

Quoting Merdeka.com, Demokrat decided not to join PDI Perjuangan as the ruling party since 2019. This has been the case since SBY stepped down in October 2014.
"Being Outside the Government"
SBY together with the Democratic Party chooses the path as a balance in parliament. Not a single Democratic cadre became a minister in the cabinet. The Democratic Party, along with the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), is in the opposition camp during two periods of Jokowi's government.
Towards the 2024 General Election, Demokrat, who had initially wanted to form a coalition with Anies Baswedan, finally chose to join Prabowo-Gibran. The coalition of candidate pair 02 is filled by political parties supporting President Jokowi's government.
