Dream - Children in remote areas must struggle and be determined to obtain education. They even have to risk their lives to reach school due to inadequate infrastructure facilities.
As recorded in the video uploaded on the TikTok account @arisila1658, an elementary school student is seen crossing a river using a styrofoam box as transportation to go to and from school.
They seem fearless and enjoy their daily activities before and after school. The elementary school children even occasionally entertain themselves by playing foam racing.
However, the worrying thing is that the river being crossed has a strong current, which can endanger lives. Moreover, they only use their hands to paddle the styrofoam box without wearing a life jacket.
The sad portrait of an elementary school child who has to cross the river using styrofoam to go to and from school happened in Tulung Selapan, Ogan Komering Ilir District, South Sumatra. It is said that the boy is in the 3rd grade of Kuala 12 State Elementary School.
With the limited facilities provided by the government, elementary school children in the Ogan Komering Ilir region, South Sumatra, have to strive even harder to pursue education. This makes them develop strong mentality and become future successful individuals.
The video shared by TikTok account @arisila1658 went viral and garnered various comments from netizens. Many netizens questioned the role of the South Sumatra government in providing adequate educational facilities for students. "The one in front is a candidate for Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, the second one is a candidate for the Supreme Court of Indonesia, and the third one is a candidate for the National Police Chief," wrote the account @romelusmelus329. "Instead, those with complete facilities are lazy to go to school," wrote the account @pacarnya_kimrm. "You are all future successful people, full of enthusiasm," wrote the account @. "Where is the governor going? Why don't they propose the construction of a bridge?" wrote the account @fatimzhr99.
