Dream - Humans living in this world are inseparable from sin. Every activity carried out often unknowingly contains sins. This is why the Prophet Muhammad SAW advised his followers to always seek forgiveness from Allah SWT. Among them is by reciting remembrance (dzikir) and prayers that erase sins as numerous as the foam in the ocean.

"Allah SWT is a God full of love and forgiveness. He will grant forgiveness to His servants who sincerely seek it. وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا أَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ اللَّهَ يَجِدِ اللَّهَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا. Meaning: "Whoever does evil or wrongs themselves, then seeks forgiveness from Allah, will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful." (Surah An-Nisa verse 110). Now, let's see what are the remembrance and prayers to erase sins like foam in the ocean!"

1. Remembrance and Prayer for Erasing Sins with Tasbih

If a Muslim wants his sins to be forgiven by Allah SWT, even if they are as abundant as the foam in the ocean, he should recite the tasbih (praise) 100 times. Here is the recitation of the tasbih that becomes a practice of erasing sins: سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ Subhanallah wa bi hamdih Meaning: "Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him."

This prayer is based on the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which states: "Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, 'Whoever says, 'Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi' (Glory be to Allah and praise Him) a hundred times in a day, all his sins will be forgiven, even if they are as abundant as the foam of the sea.' " (Narrated by Bukhari)

Removed a thousand of its badness

"In addition, the Prophet also emphasized in another saying that reciting tasbih as remembrance and prayer, a Muslim will gain a thousand virtues and have a thousand of his misdeeds erased."

Rasulullah SAW said, "Does anyone among you not have the ability to earn a thousand good deeds every day?" One of those sitting asked, "How can we earn a thousand good deeds (in a day)?" Rasulullah SAW said, "Let him recite one hundred tasbih (subhanallah), then it will be written for him as a thousand good deeds or a thousand of his sins will be erased." (Narrated by Muslim)

2. Remembrance and Prayer to Erase Sins with Istighfar

Apart from tasbih (rosary), dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and prayers that can erase sins, istighfar (seeking forgiveness) is also a practice that can be done. By reciting istighfar, sins will be forgiven. Even if one has numerous sins like foam in the ocean.

In a narration it is explained, said by Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Muhammad: "I heard Abu Sahl Al-Bukari, who was the muezzin at Masjid Bani Ma'ruf in the city of Bukhara, he was a righteous person, said: I saw the Prophet Muhammad in a dream and I saw someone saying, 'This is the companion Abu Bakar on the right side of the Prophet and the companion Umar bin Khattab on the left side of the Prophet.'"

"Muhammad bin Sa'id then approached the Prophet Muhammad. He shook his hand, then Abu Bakar and Umar also shook his hand. Then, Muhammad bin Sa'id asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Mu'awiyah has informed us, from Abdullah bin Al-Walid, from Athiyyah, from the companion Abu Said Al-Khudri who said: 'Whoever wants to sleep, recite three times:"

I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Almighty, who there is no deity except Him, the Ever-living, the Sustainer of existence, and I repent to Him. "So Allah forgives his sins even if they are as much as the foam of the sea, as much as the fine sand grains, as much as the leaves of the trees, and as much as the number of days in the world." I think it is also said: "Even if the sins are as much as the drops of rain."

Then Muhammad bin Sa'id asked the Prophet Muhammad SAW, "Does this hadith come from you, O Prophet?" He answered yes by nodding his head.
