Dream - Did you know where the first emoji originated, Dream friends? In this advanced digital era, emojis enhance the expressiveness of conversations. But do you know when the first emoji was created? Game developer and blogger, Matt Sephton, recently discovered a collection of emojis from 1988 consisting of 102 characters. These emojis appeared on a Japanese device, PA-8500, and included various symbols such as rabbits, mice, and zodiac signs. Sephton painstakingly recreated these emojis after seeing them on the device's screen.

According to him, devices like this are difficult to find in working condition. Nevertheless, Sephton managed to find and use the device.
"He was surprised to see the abundance of symbols and icons available. This discovery challenges previous understanding of the origins of emojis. According to Emojipedia, the first emoji was created by an unknown designer at SoftBank in 1997. And famous emojis were created by Japanese artist, Shigetaka Kurita, two years later."
The initial emojis were very simple compared to the detailed characters we use now. Emojis were not popular outside of Japan until 2010 when Unicode, the organization that sets digital text standards, added emojis to their index. A year later, Apple included an emoji keyboard on the iPhone, and Android followed suit in 2013. This marked the beginning of a new era of communication through emojis.
"I define the beginning of emojis as the moment when these symbols first appeared for use in writing texts. I think the timeline should not start from mobile phones, as this overlooks a lot of existing history," wrote Sephton. With this discovery, we can see that emojis have been around much longer than we thought, and their evolution reflects technological advancements and the way we communicate. Report: Khaira Amaliya"
