The CCTV recording shows Párraga and his colleague standing and talking in a restaurant. Both of them were enjoying breakfast while traveling to the La Quadra shopping center in the El Guayacan parish, Quevedo. Suddenly, two men entered the restaurant and one of them suddenly attacked Párraga and his colleague.

Former beauty pageant contestant was shot several times before the two men fled from the restaurant. Some pictures reported by The Sun show Párraga's body lying in a pool of blood the next day. Until now, there is no further information mentioning whether his partner survived the tragedy or not. After the incident, the police have conducted a murder investigation to find the identities of the attackers.

In 2023, Párraga was involved in a very large-scale organized crime case. The Attorney General's Office published a conversation mentioning Párraga in December 2023. The massive case involved 52 people, including Helive Angulo. The conversation published by the Attorney General's Office showed Angulo's statement to drug dealer Leandro Norero, who managed his assets, that the police were asking about Párraga.
