Dream - Chairman of the Garut Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Euis Ida Wartiah, went viral after allegedly mocking a crying honorary teacher during a demonstration. In the circulating video, several honorary teachers can be seen protesting at the Garut DPRD Office. One of the honorary teachers is seen sitting down while crying to voice his aspirations.
However, the tears seemed to be ignored by the Chairman of the Garut Regional People's Representative Council, Euis. Euis, who got out of the silver-colored car, instead uttered words that were unpleasant to the hearts of honorary teachers. "Please cry there. That's good," said Euis.
The following translation is done while preserving the HTML tags: "The statement was met with disappointment by the demonstrators. The honorary teachers even continued to cry sadly."
"We're fine, really. We just ask for something from our mother. We don't ask for anything," responded the honorary teacher. "Astagfirullah, Oh God. Crying is good, they say," added another protester.
The demonstration at the Garut Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) Office was carried out by hundreds of honorary teachers who are members of the Forum Alliance of Teachers and Employees (Fagar). They demand clarity on their appointment status, from honorary to civil servants (ASN) and government employees with employment agreement (PPPK).
After the video went viral, Euis Ida finally apologized. Euis claimed that she did not mean to belittle the honorary teachers. She admitted that the protest situation made her spontaneously make that statement. "On behalf of myself, I apologize for the words that were perceived as offensive to the participants of the protest from the honorary teacher community," she said.
Euis admitted that her statement was not intended to belittle the demonstrators who came to the representative building. She promised to fight for the aspirations of hundreds of honorary teachers regarding the submission of PPPK.
