Until now, the association of several elements has only been described for four specimens: an unnamed megaraptorid and the holotype specimen of Australovenator wintonensis from the Cenomanian Winton Formation. Then, a pair of theropod pubic bones were found from the lower Albian Eumeralla Formation and a megaraptorid known as 'Lightning Claw' from the Cenomanian Griman Creek Formation.

Paleontologists state that this specimen is the first part of a non-avian theropod skull reported in Australia. This discovery is recorded as the oldest geologically recognized element of a megaraptorid skull in the world, highlighting the dominance of this theropod group in mid-Cretaceous Australia. Analysis indicates the connection of this specimen with the Megaraptoridae clade, although additional Megaraptoran skull remains are needed to clarify the species' phylogenetic position and the interrelationships within Megaraptora.
