Supporting Sport Tourism in Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia Aircraft Adorned with Pocari Sweat Livery

Dream - Continuously supporting the development of sports in Indonesia, three institutions POCARI SWEAT, PT Garuda Indonesia, and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia collaborate through Sport Tourism #SweatToDiscover.

The presence of Sport Tourism #SweatToDiscover is a tangible form of continuously encouraging the Indonesian community to be healthier by exercising while exploring the natural and cultural destinations in our beloved homeland.

"Garuda's collaboration with POCARI SWEAT and Kemenparekraf is a manifestation of our commitment as a national airline to provide positive aspects and make Indonesia a Sport Tourism destination," said Fitria Ruswita, Vice President Marketing of Garuda Indonesia, during an interview at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tanggerang, on Friday, February 2, 2024. According to Fitria, this collaboration, which involves several parties with the same values, promotes sports and exploring destinations in Indonesia."

In this Sport Tourism #SweatToDiscover event, Garuda Indonesia officially launched a specially designed aircraft with POCARI SWEAT isotonic drink logo last Friday at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang. Almost half of the BOEING 737-800NG aircraft is colored in a combination of dark and light blue representing the identity of Garuda Indonesia and Pocari Sweat.

Fitria also explained that Garuda Indonesia's plane collaborated with Pocari Sweat and directly conducted its first boarding on Saturday, February 3, 2024, yesterday.

"This special aircraft will make its first flight to one of the destinations in Indonesia, Batam," added Fitria. This aircraft will be used to serve various flights, both for domestic routes and international routes."

Deputy of Tourism Products and Event Organization of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Vinsensius Jemadu, revealed that sports tourism in the country has the potential to increase. "The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy estimates that the growth projection of sports in Indonesia will reach 18.7 trillion by 2024," he said. "Synergistic collaboration between the Government, State-Owned Enterprises, and the private sector is the key to optimizing the growth of Sports Tourism, which is a concrete step towards advancing tourism in Indonesia," Vinsensius added.

Through this collaboration, Puspita Winawati as the Marketing Director of PT Amerta Indah Otsuka hopes that POCARI SWEAT together with Garuda Indonesia can support more runners to exercise and explore various natural destinations in Indonesia. On this occasion, Puspita Winawati also revealed that the synergy of the three institutions from different lines will take place for two years.
