Dream - Air transportation rating company Skytrax has released its list of the best airlines in the world for the year 2024. As a result, Singapore Airlines is no longer the best airline in the world, as Qatar Airways now occupies the top position.
This is the eighth time Qatar Airways has ranked first since 2011. The airline ranked second in last year's ranking.
Singapore Airlines is now in second position on the list. Followed by Emirates in third position, which has moved up one rank from last year.
Quoting CNBC, Asian airlines dominate the top 10 rankings, without any airlines from the United States (US) included.
Delta Air Lines is the highest-ranking US airline at position 21, down one spot from last year.
The award is based on customer surveys conducted in over 100 countries in the 2023-2024 edition. Skytrax also provides rankings in various other categories. Qatar Airways was also chosen as the best business class in the world and the best airline in the Middle East. Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines ranked first for the best cabin crew in the world, a position previously held by Garuda Indonesia. Singapore Airlines is also the best airline in Asia.
In terms of traveling on a limited budget, AirAsia from Malaysia ranks at the top of the list of the best low-cost airlines. Meanwhile, Scoot from Singapore is crowned as the best low-cost airline for long-haul flights.
Delta Air Lines occupies the top position in the list of the top 10 regional airlines in North America, followed by Air Canada, United Airlines, Porter Airlines, and Air Transat. Three out of the five best airlines are based in Canada, while other major US airlines are ranked lower.
