Dream - Apple is rumored to stop production of the next generation Vision Pro headset due to lack of interest. This headset is priced at a fantastic price of US$3,499 or around Rp57 million at the beginning of this year.
According to Futurism, Bloomberg reported in April that consumers have largely stopped ordering demos to try out the devices in stores.
Sales are also said to have declined, from several units per day to just a few units in one week.
Now, according to a new report from The Information, the technology giant has halted the development of Vision Pro for the next generation. Apple is also reportedly looking for ways to cut costs for a cheaper model that can be shipped by the end of next year.
Vision Pro, indeed praised for its sophistication, but this device is considered to have a design that makes it uncomfortable to wear for a long time.
According to The Information, the company hopes to maintain the same appearance but make it "at least one-third lighter" and price it in line with high-end iPhones.
However, it is still unclear whether Apple will meet the 2025 deadline, as Apple is struggling to reduce costs without cutting too many parts.
Meanwhile, for the existing Vision Pro, the company still hopes to launch the headset internationally by the end of this month. The company has also introduced new features included in the second iteration of the device's operating system at last week's Worldwide Developers Conference.
