Dream - The spirit of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day seems to be stirring among the automotive industry players. Fresh wind blows from automotive sales throughout August 2023. PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) reported that retail automotive market sales in Indonesia in August 2023 grew by 4.4 percent, reaching a total of 665 thousand units.
In line with the national automotive market growth, Daihatsu in Indonesia also recorded a positive retail sales achievement. This popular automaker managed to sell around 134 thousand units of four-wheeled vehicles, or an increase of approximately 8.6 percent compared to the same period last year, which was around 123 thousand units.
From the achievement, Daihatsu's retail sales contribution to the national automotive retail market reached 20.2 percent.

In terms of volume and model contribution, Daihatsu's retail sales during the 8 months of 2023 are still dominated by its top 3 flagship models. The three car models are Sigra, which sold 43,126 units, or contributed approximately 32.1 percent, followed by Gran Max PU (Pick Up) with 29,087 units (21.7 percent) and Terios with 17,966 units (13.4 percent).
While for the Ayla model sold as many as 15,789 units (11.8 percent). Xenia sold 13,370 units (10 percent), Gran Max (MB) sold 8,056 units (6 percent). In the bottom three positions are vehicles that are indeed sold relatively above the average budget of the community, namely Rocky which sold 4,489 units (3.3 percent), Luxio & Sirion sold 2,340 units (1.7 percent).
"Previously, in the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2023, Daihatsu recorded a total of 1,203 unit orders. According to Liputan6.com, this achievement represents a 17 percent increase compared to the GIIAS 2022 event, which only had 1,030 units."
As for the most popular Daihatsu model during GIIAS 2023, it is the Sigra with 311 units or contributing approximately 25.9 percent, followed by GranMax Pick Up with 188 units or a contribution of 15.6 percent.
Then, the next ranking is Xenia with 156 units (13%), Terios with 154 units (12.8%), Ayla with 116 units (9.6%), Rocky with 112 units (9.3%), and followed by 3 other models such as GranMax Mini Bus, Sirion, and Luxio with a total of 166 units (13.8%).
