The President said that the performance and movements of BPKH have always been the center of attention for the public. As the manager of funds from the hajj pilgrimage, BPKH is under scrutiny because it manages funds with a very large value, reaching Rp165 trillion.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta also requested that the managed funds of BPKH be invested in safe investment instruments. Currently, 75 percent of the managed funds of BPKH are invested in relatively safe Shariah State Securities (SBSN).

The Head of State mentioned that the government and the DPR (People's Consultative Assembly) have determined the cost of the Hajj pilgrimage to be Rp93.4 million. 40 percent of this cost is covered by the investment returns managed by BPKH (Hajj Financial Management Agency). The President also encourages that in the future, the management of Hajj finances can be more innovative, accompanied by better internal supervision.

In addition, the President also encourages that the management funds of BPKH can be more than just patching up the shortage of costs for departing pilgrims. BPKH, the President requests, must be able to provide greater value for pilgrims who are waiting in long queues.
