Dream - Karawang Regency, which was once known as the rice barn, has now transformed itself into an industrial area. In fact, Karawang is mentioned as the region with the largest industrial area in Southeast Asia. Therefore, despite being known as the Rice Barn City, many large factories are established in this area.
One of them is a car factory owned by the second President of Indonesia's son, Soeharto, Tommy Soeharto. He once established a factory in a city bordering Purwakarta.
Interestingly, it turns out that the first four-wheeled vehicle created in Indonesia was not ESEMKA, but the Timor car. The name Timor itself is an abbreviation of People's Car Industry Technology.
The following is the translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any HTML tags: "The Timor car company was founded by Tommy Soeharto. Timor cars are known as the first four-wheeled vehicles made in Indonesia. Tommy Soeharto established this car factory in 1996 under the company name PT Timor Putra Nasional."
The factory was established in the Mandala industrial area owned by Tommy Soeharto. The industrial area is located in the Cikampek District, Karawang, West Java.
Standing on an area of 124 hectares, the construction of this car factory costs US$1 billion.
However, after Soeharto stepped down, this factory ceased operations because it was seized by the state in 2000. This happened because Tommy Soeharto was involved in the BLBI case and had to repay the debt to the country.
Now, the Timor car factory in the Mandala industrial area has become an abandoned building in West Java.
The following is the translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "The Mandala industrial area is now being used as an alternative road from Karawang to Purwakarta. The wide paved road is quite attractive for people to pass through this area."
There are no signs of life in this area at all, except for occasional passing motorcyclists. The right and left sides of the asphalt road are now overgrown with grass and wild trees without any street lighting at all.
"So you can imagine how scary and frightening this alternative route is at night. Moreover, this Karawang-Purwakarta alternative route has to pass through small roads that can only be passed by motorcycles."
The road condition is no longer suitable as the asphalt is peeling off, resulting in many potholes here and there.
Apparently, this is not the first 'sale' conducted by the mosque management foundation.
