Found Suspicious Transactions of Rp51 Trillion Ahead of the 2024 Election

Dream - Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center (PPATK) found transactions conducted by 100 legislative candidates (caleg) totaling Rp51 trillion. The findings were obtained after PPATK reviewed caleg in the permanent candidate data (DCT).

"\u201cLet's take the top 100 out of those 100 DCT, the value is Rp 51,475,886,106,483 (Rp 51.4 trillion),\u201d"

PPATK also found an increase in the deposit of funds made by the candidates for the 2024 Election. Still with 100 candidate specimens, PPATK recorded an accumulation of transactions reaching Rp21,760,254,437,875.

"“And on the withdrawal side, we also see that there are 100 DCTs that withdrew Rp34,016,767,980,872 (Rp 34 trillion),” he added. According to Ivan, the PPTK also observed suspicious financial transaction reports. This refers to the reporting party who has suspected that these transactions are likely related to certain criminal acts."

"\u201cFor example, if someone who is suspected of corruption carries out a transaction, and it is known that their profile is different, for example, usually they only make small transactions, hundreds of thousands, suddenly hundreds of millions or vice versa, hundreds of millions then become billions, it is reported to PPATK,\u201d said Ivan."

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has received the report of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) regarding alleged suspicious transactions before the 2024 Election. Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Alexander Marwata, has instructed his staff to follow up on the findings.

"Yesterday I have received it and we just need to instruct, learn, plan the follow-up action, and discuss it with the leaders," said Alex at the Red and White Building of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Jakarta, last December. However, he cannot disclose the PPATK data. Alex mentioned that the data falls under the category of intelligence data, so it cannot be conveyed carelessly."

"However, what is clear is that we have received it, the KPK has received a report from PPATK regarding the alleged occurrence of campaign funds or whatever the term is, and the leaders have asked for it to be studied, planned, and discussed with the leaders. That is my disposition," said Alex.
