"Currently, Zenius is facing operational challenges, we are taking strategic steps to temporarily halt operations," wrote Zenius Management as quoted from Liputan6.com, Thursday, January 4, 2023."
"Not mentioned how long Zenius will be closed for operations in Indonesia. The management also expressed an apology for the temporary closure of Zenius operations."
"We deeply regret the inconvenience that will be caused to our users. Therefore, we apologize and thank our users and partners for the trust that has been given," said Zenius Management.
The news about the closure of Zenius's operations began with an Instagram post from @ecommurz that included a press release from the company regarding the closure of the company.
"This news has also been widely shared again by netizens on X, especially those who have been associated with Zenius, whether they are former employees or netizens who have been helped by this online education platform."
"As information, Zenius, which has been established since 2004, previously decided to lay off more than 200 employees in May 2022."
At that time, Zenius stated that the layoffs of employees were carried out because they were affected by the worst macroeconomic conditions in several decades. At that time, 200 laid-off Zenius employees would receive severance pay according to regulations.
