Dream - Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis (PPATK) revealed a new mode of online gambling in Indonesia. Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Budi Arie Setiadi, said that even this new mode is difficult to trace.
The new mode referred to is that online gambling players can now make deposits or top-ups through mobile operator credit or their respective numbers, making it more difficult to trace.
"From the PPATK report, there is a new modus operandi for online gambling with deposits through credit. This makes it more difficult to trace."

Budi emphasizes that the government, through the Online Gambling Task Force, will continue to take steps to provide protection for the community and systematically eradicate online gambling.

The steps taken to prevent the public from playing online gambling, one of which is by sending SMS Blast to mobile telecommunication service users throughout Indonesia.
Budi continued, his party will directly socialize with mobile operator owners to eradicate online gambling and not provide online gambling facilities.
"We will socialize with all mobile operators. We will officially send a letter to the operators to firmly participate in eradicating online gambling and not facilitating online gambling."

Kominfo also ensures that there will be other preventive measures carried out across ministries and institutions through the Task Force for the Eradication of Online Gambling. "We will continue to conduct massive socialization and education to all levels because it is clear that the Task Force involves the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, and our schools are also involved," said Budi.
