Scheme of Peak Hajj Worship in Armuzna, Movement of Pilgrims and Prepared Services

Dream - Chairman of PPIH Saudi Arabia, M Subhan Cholid, stated that his party, together with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and the Masyarik party, have prepared a plan for the movement of pilgrims during the Armina phase.

Indonesian pilgrims will depart for Arafah on 8 Zulhijjah or it is predicted to fall on June 26, 2023, in three phases of departure. The first phase starts from 07.00 to 11.00 WAS, the second phase starts from 11.00 to 15.00 WAS, and the third phase starts from 15.00 WAS until completion.

"So there are three trips for the departure of pilgrims. Each Maktab will allocate 21 buses. The number of pilgrims per Maktab is around 2,900 people. One bus will carry 45 pilgrims. So, God willing, each Maktab can be completed in three and a half rounds of pick-up," said Subhan.

Next movement from Arafah to Muzdalifah after the pilgrims perform the wukuf worship. In this phase, the transportation facilities used by each Maktab will be reduced to 9 buses. So, the process of picking up pilgrims is estimated to take seven to eight rounds.

From Muzdalifah, the pilgrims will be sent to Mina with a distance of about 2 km. To avoid congestion, the fleet used is reduced to 5 buses per Maktab, but the number of rotations is increased.

"For the movement from Mina to Makkah, the fleet used will return to 21 buses per Maktab. Pilgrims who take the first nafar will depart on 12 Zulhijjah before sunset, while those who take the second nafar will depart from Mina on 13 Zulhijjah," explained Subhan.

Prepare Pilgrim Service Team

In addition, PPIH also formed a structure called Satops (Operational Unit) Armuzna. In addition, three Satgas (Task Forces) were also formed, namely the Arafah Satgas for Airport Daker, the Muzdalifah Satgas for Makkah Daker, and the Mina Satgas for Madinah Daker.

Subhan explained that each Satgas would be formed with 11 ad hoc teams, which are responsible for providing services to all Indonesian pilgrims during their stay in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina.

He stated that the ad hoc team consisted of pilgrim protection officers (Linjam), Crisis Handling and First Aid for Hajj Pilgrims (PKP3JH) team, health officers, elderly service officers, and Worship Guidance (Bimbad) team.

"God willing, we will provide service needs to pilgrims through ad hoc points," said Subhan.

In addition, PPIH will also place a number of personnel at 70 Maktab occupied by Indonesian pilgrims. They are responsible for overseeing the Maktab in providing accommodation services to pilgrims as well as overseeing catering services.

"Pilgrims will receive catering services 16 times during their stay in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina. This service is provided by the Maktab. We will prepare an attached team to supervise it," explained Subhan.

Specifically in Mina, in addition to the ad hoc team stationed at 11 points in the pilgrim tent area, a Jamarat team is also prepared. This team will be on standby at 10 points, with five points on the upper Jamarat route and five points on the lower Jamarat route.

"We will prepare security lines above and below. Because the movement route of Indonesian pilgrims from the Mina tent to Jamarat, which is prepared by Saudi Arabia, can go through the upper route and there is also the potential for pilgrims to go through the lower route. So, there are five points above and five points below for security," explained Subhan.

"From Jamarat to the tent in Mina, eight officer posts are prepared. Each post is staffed with a number of personnel to escort pilgrims during their journey to and from Jamarat," he added.

Elderly Pilgrims Can Be Represented in Stoning the Jamarat

Meanwhile, elderly service officers will be placed at each point. They will be equipped with various supporting devices, such as wheelchairs.

"God willing, we will prepare more than 100 wheelchairs for the Armina service, especially during the Mina phase. The Masyarik party also informed us that they will prepare 15 golf carts in Mina for elderly services," explained Subhan.

During their stay in Mina, elderly pilgrims are advised to remain in the tent. The process of stoning the Jamarat can be represented by other pilgrims who are physically stronger, and this is allowed. Because to reach the Jamarat, all pilgrims have to walk for kilometers, and it requires extraordinary energy.

The closest distance from the tent occupied by Indonesian pilgrims to the Jamarat is about 3 km, so going back and forth means covering a distance of 6 km. Meanwhile, the farthest distance is 7 km, so going back and forth means covering a distance of 14 km.

"This is certainly very difficult for elderly pilgrims. Therefore, it can be represented because it is allowed according to Islamic law. Elderly pilgrims should stay in the tent to pray and remember God, while stoning the Jamarat can be represented," explained Subhan.

Meanwhile, Indonesian pilgrims continue to arrive in the city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, both from Madinah and Jeddah. Until Wednesday, June 14, 2023, afternoon Saudi Arabian time, there were 323 flight groups (kloter) with 122,787 pilgrims recorded.
