Prayer after Thawaf, Recited by Hajj Pilgrims at Multazam

Dream - Tawaf is one of the pillars of Hajj and Umrah rituals, performed by circling the Kaaba. Tawaf is a series of rituals performed by circling the Kaaba seven times in a clockwise direction.

As part of the Hajj pilgrimage, Tawaf is obligatory for pilgrims who are currently performing this fifth pillar of Islam. The Tawaf process starts from the Hajar Aswad, which is the black stone located at one corner of the Kaaba, and ends back at the same corner after completing seven rounds.

During Tawaf, Hajj and Umrah pilgrims are encouraged to recite the talbiyah, recite prayers, engage in remembrance of Allah, and remember Allah SWT. They can also use the time of Tawaf to seek forgiveness, express their desires and hopes to Allah, and engage in remembrance by reciting words of tasbih and takbir.

Tawaf consists of various types, such as Tawaf Ifadah performed during Hajj, Tawaf Qudum performed upon arrival at Masjidil Haram for Umrah, and Tawaf Wada' which is a farewell Tawaf before leaving the Holy Land.

Types of Thawaf that Need to be Known

Before knowing the prayer after Thawaf, Dream Friends also need to know the types of Thawaf. There are four types of Thawaf performed during the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage. The types of Thawaf are as follows:

1. Thawaf Qudum

Thawaf Qudum or Dukhul Thawaf is the Thawaf performed when the pilgrims first arrive in Makkah. This Thawaf is also known as the welcome Thawaf. This is similar to the practice of the Prophet Muhammad SAW who always performed Thawaf Qudum every time he entered Masjidil Haram as a substitute for the Tahiyatul Masjid prayer.

Thawaf Qudum is recommended, so if it is not performed, it will not invalidate the series of Hajj or Umrah rituals. However, menstruating and postpartum women are prohibited from performing Thawaf Qudum.

2. Thawaf Tathawwu

Unlike Thawaf Qudum, Thawaf Tathawwu can be performed at any time. However, its function is the same as Thawaf Qudum, which is a substitute for Tahiyatul Masjid prayer when entering Masjidil Haram.

3. Thawaf Ifadah

Thawaf Ifadah is a Thawaf that is part of the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage, so if it is not performed, the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage will be invalidated.

Thawaf Ifadah is mainly performed on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, precisely after stoning the Jamrah Aqabah and tahallul or shaving the hair. It is recommended to perform Thawaf Ifadah before the end of the Tashriq days (11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhu al-Hijjah).

4. Thawaf Wada'

Thawaf Wada' is the farewell Thawaf performed when the Hajj pilgrims are about to leave Mecca and return to their respective countries. Unlike Thawaf Qudum, Thawaf Wada' is obligatory, so if Dream Friends do not perform it, they must pay dam or a fine.

Prayer after Thawaf, Recited at Multazam

The atmosphere during Tawaf is certainly very crowded. Hajj pilgrims from all over the world gather in Baitullah to perform Tawaf. After completing Tawaf, pilgrims should move slightly to the right from the direction of the Hajar Aswad towards the wall of the Kaaba called Multazam. اَللَّهُمَّ يَا رَبَّ الْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيْقِ ، آتِقْ عِقَابَنَا ، وَرِقَابَ آبَائِنَا وَأُمَّهَاتِنَا وَإِخْوَانِنَا وَأَوْلَادِنَا مِنَ النَّارِ ، يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْكَرَمِ وَالْفَضْلِ وَالْمَنِّ وَالْعِطَاءِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ ، اَللَّهُمَّ أَحْسِنْ عَاقِبَتَنَا فِي الْأُمُورِ كُلِّهَا ، وَأَجِرْنَا مِنْ خِزْيِ الدُّنْيَا وَعَذَابِ الْآخِرَةِ ، اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي عَبْدُكَ وَابْنُ عَبْدِكَ وَقِفٌ تَحْتَ بَابِكَ مُلْتَزَمٌ بِعَتَبَتِكَ ، مُتَضَرِّعٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ ، أَرْجُو رَحْمَتَكَ ، وَأَخْشَى عَذَابَكَ يَا قَاضِيَ الْإِحْسَانِ. O Allah, I ask of You, to benefit from Your remembrance, to be relieved of my burden, to rectify my affairs, to purify my heart, to assist me in my understanding, to forgive my sins, and I ask of You the highest ranks in Paradise.

Meaning: "O Allah, the One who protects this Kaaba, free us, our fathers and mothers, our brothers and sisters, and our children from the punishment of Hell. O Lord, the Most Merciful, Generous, and Possessor of excellence, nobility, superiority, blessings, favors, and goodness. O Allah, rectify the outcome of all our affairs and keep us away from disgrace in this world and punishment in the Hereafter. O Allah, indeed I am Your servant, the child of Your servant, standing close to Your Kaaba, humbling myself before You, seeking Your mercy, Your compassion, and fearing Your punishment. O Lord, the Owner of eternal goodness, I ask of You to elevate my name, erase my sins, rectify all my affairs, purify my heart, and grant me light in my grave. Forgive my sins, and I ask of You a high status in Paradise."
