According to the Public Relations Officer of the South Sulawesi Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Mawardi Siradj, the hajj pilgrims from the 14th flight group were not expelled from Al Harithia Hotel. He said that the hajj pilgrims were to be moved to Front Taiba Hotel.

"They were not expelled, but the hajj pilgrims from the 14th flight group of Makassar Embarkation who stayed at Al Harithia Hotel were moved to Front Taiba Hotel, which is closer to Masjid Nabawi," said Mawardi at the Sudiang Makassar Hajj Dormitory on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

He explained that the transfer of the 14th flight group to Front Taiba Hotel was based on its proximity to Masjid Nabawi. In addition, Front Taiba Hotel is also closer to the hajj pilgrims' hotel from Makassar Embarkation.

"Front Taiba Hotel is also close to other UPG flight group hotels. Previously, one flight group was separated into different hotels, now they want to be united," he said.

Previously, a viral video on social media narrated that the hajj pilgrims from the 14th flight group of Makassar Embarkation were left stranded in Saudi Arabia.

In the video, a male hajj pilgrim pleaded with the South Sulawesi Provincial Government to pay attention to the hajj pilgrims from the 14th flight group. In the video, he claimed that hajj pilgrims from Lutra and Lutim were left stranded in Saudi Arabia.

"Please help us, sir, we are from North Luwu, the 14th flight group. So please, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, pay attention as soon as possible to the hajj pilgrims from Lutra and Lutim who are currently stranded in Saudi Arabia," he said in the video.

The video recorder also showed that the luggage of the 14th flight group hajj pilgrims piled up in the yard of Al Harithia Hotel. The female video recorder also revealed that the hajj pilgrims from the 14th flight group were confused because they were expelled from Al Harithia Hotel.
