Open until June 12, Check the Criteria for Hajj Cost Payment for Additional Quotas

Dream - The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) has opened the payment of Hajj Travel Costs (Bipih) for additional quotas starting from June 8 to June 12, 2023. This is based on the Presidential Decree (Keppres) that has been signed today.

“Alhamdulillah, the Keppres has been issued. The payment for additional quotas is open for three working days, from June 8 to June 12, 2023,” said Saiful Mujab in Jakarta on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

The Keppres No. 12 of 2023 concerning Amendments to the Keppres No. 7 of 2023 concerning the Costs of Organizing the Hajj 1444 H/2023 M, which comes from Bipih and Value of Benefits, is meant.

This year, Indonesia received an additional quota from Saudi Arabia of 8,000 pilgrims. Thus, the total quota for this year's Hajj is 229,000 pilgrims.

In the Minister of Religious Affairs Decree (KMA) No. 467 of 2023 concerning the Determination of Additional Hajj Quotas 1444 H/2023 M, it is stated that the additional quota consists of 7,360 regular Hajj quotas, and 640 special Hajj quotas consisting of 600 pilgrims and 40 officer quotas.

Saiful explained that this payment period is opened to provide an opportunity for pilgrims with the next sequence number. These pilgrims can pay the Hajj costs as reserve pilgrims.

“They will fill in if the additional Hajj quota has not been fulfilled until the payment deadline,” he said.

In addition, he conveyed that until the end of this additional quota payment period, if it is not fulfilled, the allocation of filling the quota will be the Minister of Religious Affairs' policy.

Here are the categories of Hajj pilgrims who can make payments within this additional quota:

a. Regular Hajj pilgrims who experienced system failure in the previous payment phase;
b. Reserve Hajj pilgrims who have made payments; and
c. Regular Hajj pilgrims with the next sequence number after the reserve Hajj pilgrims.
