“Excessive selfies in front of the Kaaba, besides disturbing the sanctity of worship, also disturb other pilgrims,” said PPIH Spokesperson Akhmad Fauzin, as quoted from Liputan.com, Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

Fauzin explained a number of strict prohibitions that Hajj pilgrims in the area of Masjid al-Haram need to pay attention to, such as spreading banners for group photos, taking selfies in front of the Kaaba with objects resembling humans, animals, such as puppets, and the like.

“Violation of these prohibitions will result in legal consequences from the security authorities of Saudi Arabia,” said Fauzin.

In addition to disturbing other pilgrims, the committee also reminds pilgrims to focus on worship while in the Holy Land, especially while in Masjid al-Haram.

Temperature in Mecca Reaches 45 Degrees Celsius, Hajj Pilgrims Advised Not to Overexert Themselves

Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are advised to maintain their health and physical fitness. Pilgrims are also advised not to overexert themselves in performing voluntary prayers, ziyarah, and other activities that will drain their energy.

"Worship according to your own abilities so that the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage, especially during the Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina periods, can proceed smoothly and well," he said.

The arrival of the first wave of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from Medina to Mecca has been taking place since June 1, 2023.

Until June 5, 2023 at 21.00 Saudi Arabian time, there were 22,932 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims who were part of 58 groups that had arrived in Mecca.

The arrival phase of pilgrims from Medina will continue until June 16, 2023. Meanwhile, the second wave of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims will begin to depart from the homeland on June 8, 2023.

They will land at King Abdul Aziz Jeddah International Airport and then be transported to Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The arrival phase of the second wave of Hajj pilgrims in Mecca will take place from June 8 to 22, 2023.
