Temperature in Mecca Reaches 45 Degrees Celsius, Hajj Pilgrims Advised Not to Force Themselves

The Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) of Saudi Arabia advises pilgrims to maintain their health and not to force themselves in performing voluntary prayers or pilgrimage programs.

“The weather in Mecca is very hot. Pilgrims are advised to maintain their health, not to force themselves in performing voluntary prayers, and to perform the hajj according to their abilities,” said Chairman of PPIH Saudi Arabia, Subhan Cholid, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

Indonesian hajj pilgrims are advised to maintain their health and physical fitness. Pilgrims are also advised not to force themselves to perform voluntary prayers, ziyarah, and other activities that will drain their energy.

"Perform the pilgrimage according to your abilities so that the hajj, especially during the Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina periods, can be carried out well and smoothly," he said.

The arrival of the first wave of Indonesian hajj pilgrims from Medina to Mecca has been taking place since June 1, 2023.

Until June 5, 2023, at 21:00 Saudi Arabian time, there were 22,932 Indonesian hajj pilgrims who were part of 58 groups already in Mecca.

The arrival phase of pilgrims from Medina will continue until June 16, 2023. Meanwhile, the second wave of Indonesian hajj pilgrims will start departing from the homeland on June 8, 2023.

They will land at King Abdul Aziz Jeddah International Airport and then depart to Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The arrival phase of the second wave of hajj pilgrims in Mecca will take place from June 8 to 22, 2023.

Story of Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Unable to See the Kaaba in Mecca, Previous Profession Mentioned as the Cause

Like the story of an Indonesian hajj pilgrim who claimed to be sad because they couldn't see the Kaaba. Even though the Kaaba was right in front of them, this pilgrim couldn't see it.

The story of the hajj pilgrim was shared by Alman Mulyana, an Indonesian YouTuber who lives in Mecca. He said the incident happened a few years ago.

As part of repentance, a hajj pilgrim who worked as a loan shark went on the pilgrimage. However, when they were in Mecca, the hajj pilgrim couldn't see the Kaaba while performing tawaf.

"A loan shark who repented and went on hajj, but when they arrived in Mecca, they couldn't see the Kaaba. They came all the way from Indonesia, then they just went around but couldn't see the Kaaba," said Alman.

In addition to the story of the loan shark, Alman recounted the story of a hajj pilgrim who was caught with an amulet while in the Holy Land.

The hajj pilgrim, whose name is unknown, went to the Holy Land for the first time. Unlike others who cry with emotion when in Mecca, this hajj pilgrim felt empty.

Even the hajj pilgrim felt lazy to pray at Masjid al-Haram despite the hotel being very close. It turned out that the person forgot to remove the amulet from their wallet.

"They were lazy to go to Masjid al-Haram, even though it was close to their hotel, it turns out that person had an amulet in their wallet," said Alman.

"When they threw away the amulet, they started crying uncontrollably and realized that they were in the Holy Land of Mecca," he continued.

Alman also reminded that many extraordinary events can happen in the Holy Land. He advised hajj pilgrims to guard their speech and replace it with remembrance of Allah.
