Completed, Putu Chelsea Ivana Maida Crowned as Miss Universe Indonesia-Bali 2023

Exactly on June 23rd, the Miss Universe Indonesia-Bali 2023 pageant was successfully held. The beauty contest, held at Saba Theater, The Keranjang Bali, was participated by 17 contestants with their own uniqueness and beauty. However, among the participants, Putu Chelsea Ivana Maida or commonly known as Chelsea was finally chosen as the winner and crowned as Miss Universe Indonesia-Bali 2023.

Besides Bali, the Miss Universe Indonesia event is also progressing well in several other provinces. Among them are East Java and West Java, which in 2023 become the license holders for Provincial Miss Universe Indonesia. 

"In East Java province itself, the Grand Final has been held on June 18, 2023, and they have obtained 3 representatives to advance to Miss Universe Indonesia. Meanwhile, the progress of West Java province, they will hold the grand final on July 1, 2023, in Bandung," said Coprovince Director of Miss Universe Indonesia, Cecilia Adiutama.

The Challenges of Miss Universe Indonesia-Bali in Carrying Out Duties

After the winner of Miss Universe Indonesia-Bali 2023 was announced, Cecilia explained the tasks that Chelsea must undertake. It includes promoting Bali as an ideal tourist destination for both local and international tourists. 

However, there are challenges that must be overcome related to tourism on the island known as The Island Of Paradise. Especially since Covid-19 hit the world and made Bali one of the areas most affected. 

"Since Covid-19 hit the world, Bali is one of the areas most affected, considering that most of its areas are tourist destinations."

Therefore, when Covid-19 occurred, Bali had to close most of its tourist attractions to comply with the government's health protocols. This has become a major challenge in promoting tourism in Bali," said Cecilia.

To address this challenge, Cecilia also stated that they will involve all sectors of Bali's tourism industry as well as the global sector to work together. In addition, support and assistance from the Indonesian government are also expected so that the tourism sector in Bali can develop even better.

"The most important thing is how we strengthen the promotion sector to build a good image, so that Bali can become the best destination in the world in terms of nature and culture, through the improvement of professional tourism management in the region," she continued.   

Chelsea's Program as Miss Universe Indonesia-Bali 2023

As the representative of Bali Province in the Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 event, Chelsea is required to participate in a special program. It is a self-improvement program so that she can compete with other candidates in Miss Universe Indonesia 2023. With that, she will be more capable of showing her best side to the Indonesian people through the beauty pageant.

On the other hand, the implementation of Miss Universe Indonesia-Bali 2023 also brings women empowerment for Balinese women. The women empowerment movement is created to encourage all women to take action. 

"The women empowerment aspect that Miss Universe Indonesia Bali is doing is through motivational movements for Balinese women," said Cecilia.

In the future, Miss Universe Indonesia will continue to take concrete steps in promoting tourism in the country. 

"The concrete steps that Miss Universe Indonesia takes to preserve and promote tourism are by continuously innovating and seeking investors in Indonesia, because the regional economy will stagnate if it solely relies on the government," Cecilia explained.
