Deddy Corbuzier: Indonesian Creative Industry Needs Meaningful Content

Dream - Deddy Corbuzier believes that the creative content industry in Indonesia is currently not providing significant benefits.

The man known as the Father of Indonesian Youtube believes that content creators need to make changes in order to provide positive value to the nation.

"In the creative content industry, many only entertain without providing any added value," said Deddy at the kick-off press conference of Ideafest Jakarta on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.

The Youtuber with 21 million subscribers expressed that content creators have a role in shaping public opinion. He encourages collaboration among creators to create meaningful content.

According to him, current trends do not provide significant benefits. Creative content should provide positive benefits without compromising the nation's identity.

Deddy commented on the trend of "mothers bathing in mud" content. He acknowledged its creative aspect, but emphasized the importance of positive impact in every content.

“The mother bathing in mud is a content creator, she may be foolish but creative,” said Deddy.

He hopes that the Indonesian creative content industry will improve in the future. For him, content creators are responsible for prioritizing benefits and positive values.

"Entertainment can be intelligent without forgetting national values," Deddy emphasized.

In addition, Deddy hopes that the creative content industry in Indonesia will develop better, while still entertaining and inspiring the public.

Meanwhile, IdeaFest will be held again from September 29 to October 1, 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta.

This creative festival is the 12th edition held to support the growth and development of the creative industry in the country.

Through various innovative and collaborative programs, IdeaFest 2023 adopts the theme "Lead the Leap!". IdeaFest 2023 will feature more than 200 speakers.

IdeaFest 2023 will present more than 200 speakers in 100 sessions consisting of IdeaFest Conference, Idea Talks, NexSpace, and Youth Summit.

In addition, IdeaFest 2023 also features the Idea Creative Workshop, to explore new ideas and creative skills.

Not only that, IdeaFest 2023 collaborates with Semasa to introduce the Art Market, a bazaar that showcases more than 90 local brands with various products, ranging from lifestyle to daily needs.

Furthermore, the Food Market will also enliven IdeaFest 2023 by presenting 40 local F&B brands.
