Exciting Safari Adventure with Yaris Cross Hybrid, Fascinated by Its Advanced Features

Dream - Many interesting things were obtained when testing the Yaris Cross Hybrid, adventuring around Surabaya, Batu, and Malang with a total distance of approximately 500 kilometers, for three days, July 4-5, 2023.

Dream directly tested the performance of the Yaris Cross Hybrid in stop-and-go conditions, experienced its comfort in the midst of heavy traffic, learned how the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) technology works to maintain driver awareness and provide assistance in emergency situations, and the most unique thing is driving like a pure electric car when EV Mode is activated.

In addition, there are also cool features that make the adventure more exciting with the Yaris Cross Hybrid. That's what Dream felt and tried directly when visiting Taman Safari Prigen, East Java.

The first unique feature is voice command in Indonesian language embedded in Yaris Cross. It's easy to use. Just press the button on the left side of the steering wheel.

There are quite a lot of commands that can be done. One of them is to activate and deactivate the AC. For the list, you can see it on the 10.1-inch touch screen head unit that also features wireless Apple CarPlay.

This feature is also available in Kijang Innova Zenix, but only for opening and closing the trunk.

This feature certainly makes the Safari Adventure with Yaris Cross more exciting and memorable. We can use voice commands to operate several things in the Yaris Cross, while enjoying the nature and various animals there.

Another cool feature is the phone reminder. Yaris Cross Hybrid is equipped with a wireless charger, which means it can be used to charge your phone.

Interestingly, this phone charging area is also equipped with a holder inside. Its function is to keep the charged phone from shifting when the car is maneuvering.

When leaving the car, the head unit will remind the driver to check the phone being charged. This feature certainly minimizes the occurrence of leaving the phone in the car.

Then another cool feature is the panoramic sunroof in the top-of-the-line Yaris Cross Hybrid. This roof cannot be opened, it can only display a view towards the sky.

This feature was previously adopted by the Toyota bZ4X electric car, using a non-opening panoramic roof. In this car, the roof consists of a large dividing bar in the middle.

What's even more exciting is that the cover or sunshade can be operated through an electric open-close button that can be opened at any time. It certainly makes the adventure more enjoyable, as you can see the beautiful and cool scenery from the Yaris Cross Hybrid roof.

During the journey at Taman Safari, Dream also tried the EV Mode in the Yaris Cross Hybrid. We can directly experience the unique experience of driving a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) without hybrid engine support.

Although it takes time to adapt to the abundant torque from 1 rpm, once you get used to it, it will be very entertaining. The instant power delivery makes the car responsive. The hybrid engine's roar replaced by the hum of the electric motor presents a futuristic atmosphere, plus a serene view.

The atmosphere inside the cabin feels more comfortable like being in a living room thanks to the spacious cabin with adequate headroom and legroom. In addition to having a Panoramic Glass Roof with Power Sunshade, there is also a 10.1 Inch Head Unit Display with Wireless Smartphone Connectivity, the largest in its class, providing information and entertainment to all passengers.

Multicolor Ambient Illumination Lamp on the console box and front door trim, along with a wireless charger, make it look luxurious and classy.
