“Ibn Abbas said (narrated), whoever reads Surah Yasin when it is morning, he will be given ease for that day until he reaches the evening, and whoever reads it at the beginning of the night, he will be given ease for that night until he reaches the morning.” [HR ad-Darimi No. 3285].
Another virtue of reading the Yasin letter on Friday night in the month of Ramadan is that sins can be forgiven. This is based on the following hadith:
“From Ma'qil bin Yasar (narrated) the Prophet SAW said: al-Baqarah is the highest and peak Surah of the Qur'an. Eighty angels descend with each of its verses. Laa ilaha illaahu al-hayyul qayyum is under the 'Arsy, then it is combined with it, or combined with the Surah al-Baqarah. Meanwhile, Yasin is the heart of the Qur'an. “From 'Atha` bin Abu Rabah (narrated), I have received news that the Prophet SAW said: Whoever reads Surah Yasin at the beginning of the day, all his needs will be fulfilled.” [HR ad-Darimi No. 3284].
There is a hadith that explains that reading the Yasin letter on Friday night in the month of Ramadan is likened to reading the entire Quran 10 times. Here is the wording of the hadith:
“From Anas (narrated) the Prophet SAW said: Indeed, everything has a heart, and the heart of the Qur'an is the Yasin surah, whoever reads the Yasin surah, then Allah will record for him (reward) as if he read the entire Quran ten times for his recitation.” [HR at-Tirmidzi No. 2812].
At-Tirmidzi explained that the hadith is a rare hadith. Where it is only known from the hadith of Humaid bin Abdurrahman. Meanwhile, in Bashrah, people do not know it from the hadith of Qatadah except from this chain. In its sanad there is a narrator of hadith, namely Harun Abu Muhammad who is a majhul sheikh.
