MMKSI Strategy Boosts Automotive Sales in 2023

Dream - After being battered during the pandemic, the Indonesian automotive market seems to be recovering. In 2022, the domestic automotive market has even returned to normal, just like before the pandemic.

Last year, car sales reached one million units with a 17 percent growth compared to 2021. This figure is strong evidence of the recovery of the Indonesian automotive market. 

Just look at the sales performance of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI). They achieved excellent results last year.

MMKSI successfully maintained its position with a market share of 10.6 percent in 2022. 

Based on projections from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers (GAIKINDO), the sales target for new cars in 2023 is 975 thousand units. Of course, this poses a challenge for MMKSI to compete in the Indonesian market. 

“MMKSI's efforts last year were answered with positive sales achievements and motivate us to achieve even better results. The experience from last year taught us to continue innovating in order to provide the best service and improve customer satisfaction,” said Naoya Nakamura, President Director of PT MMKSI from September 2018 to March 2023, during a Media Gathering in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

As of April 1, 2023, Naoya Nakamura's position as President Director of PT MMKSI is replaced by Atsushi Kurita, who has already started developing various strategies to face the Indonesian market. 

The strategies that MMKSI will implement in 2023 include launching new models, providing attractive sales programs with leasing support, increasing the frequency of monthly exhibition events, and enhancing activities with customers at dealerships. 

“MMKSI's experience last year serves as valuable motivation and reference for us to achieve even better results and continue to provide the best, in order to maintain maximum customer satisfaction,” said Atsushi Kurita, President Director of PT MMKSI.
