Mitsubishi Car Sales Nearly Reach 98 Thousand Units in 2022

Dream - Apparently, the automotive market in Indonesia started to recover last year. Data shows that car sales in 2022 increased by 17.4 percent compared to the previous year.

The Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) recorded retail car sales in the country throughout 2022 at 1.01 million units, a significant increase compared to 863,358 units in 2021.

The improvement in the automotive market is in line with the achievement of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI). Last year, they successfully maintained their position with a market share of 10.6 percent.

Based on GAIKINDO's retail sales data for the 2022 calendar year, Mitsubishi Motors passenger and light commercial vehicles in Indonesia recorded a total sales of 97,936 units. Passenger vehicle sales reached 69,629 units, while light commercial vehicles reached 28,307 units.

"We achieved positive sales performance and successfully maintained our position and total market share of 10.6 percent," said Atsushi Kurita, President Director of PT MMKSI, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 5, 2023. 

Not only that, MMKSI also achieved positive results for the aftersales side. In 2022, the total number of vehicles coming in for service and maintenance increased by 7 percent.

In addition, sales growth of spare parts, accessories, and genuine parts increased by 7 percent compared to 2021.

"We were able to improve our performance on the aftersales side with a 7 percent growth for SIU and also 7 percent for spare parts, accessories, and genuine parts," added Atsushi Kurita. (x)
