Dream - Day after day, the month of Ramadan is passing by until this moment. Unconsciously, we have passed almost half of the month of Ramadan 1444 H. Prayers of tarawih, suhoor, reading the Quran, and other sunnah prayers should continue to be performed until the arrival of Eid al-Fitr takbir.

When it comes to the end of Ramadan, there is a prayer that you can recite. That prayer is the prayer of the Prophet Muhammad SAW taught to Aisyah radhiyallahu'anha.

Before knowing the recitation of Aisyah's prayer at the end of Ramadan, it is better to understand the specialness of the last 10 days of Ramadan that must be observed. Considering that the last ten days are a sign of parting with Ramadan.

Increase Worship in the Last 10 Nights of Ramadan

The last ten days of Ramadan are the most special days during Ramadan. The specialness of the last 10 days of Ramadan is known because of the night of Lailatul Qadar. Lailatul Qadar is said to be a night that is better than a thousand months.

The Prophet Muhammad SAW also intensified his worship during the last ten nights of Ramadan. It is narrated from Aisyah radhiyallahu'anha, that "When the last ten days of Ramadan arrived, the Prophet Muhammad SAW tightened his waistband, stayed up at night, and woke up his family." (Muttafaq Alaih)

Meanwhile, in another narration, it is mentioned that Aisyah radhiyallahu'anha said: "Indeed, the Prophet Muhammad SAW intensified his worship during the last ten days of Ramadan compared to other days." (HR. Muslim)

Both of the above narrations clearly explain that the Prophet Muhammad increased the intensity of his worship in the last 10 nights of Ramadan. All of this was done because of his knowledge of how special the last ten days of Ramadan, along with its nights, are.

Aisyah's Prayer at the End of Ramadan

Aisyah radhiyallahu'anha was taught a prayer by the Prophet Muhammad SAW to be recited at the end of Ramadan. Here is the recitation of the prayer that needs to be practiced:

أَللّهمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَريْمٌ تُحِبُّ العَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عنّا

Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun karim tuhibbul afwa fa'fu anna

Meaning: "O Allah, indeed You are the Most Forgiving, Most Generous. You love forgiveness, so forgive us."

This prayer of Aisyah at the end of Ramadan is not only recited at the end of Ramadan but can also be recited as a prayer after tarawih prayers.

The night of Lailatul Qadar is very special, so it is not surprising that Muslims strive to attain it by increasing worship and voluntary acts. The exact time of Lailatul Qadar is not known. However, Muslims can recognize it from the signs that have been explained in the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Aisyah's prayer at the end of Ramadan is also known as the prayer for Lailatul Qadar. Aisyah radhiyallahu 'anha once asked the Prophet Muhammad SAW:

"O Messenger of Allah, if I meet Lailatul Qadar, what is a good prayer to recite?" The Prophet Muhammad SAW answered:

 اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allahumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul afwa fa'fu anni.

Meaning: "O Allah, indeed You are the Most Forgiving. You love forgiveness, so forgive me."

Main Practices Before the End of Ramadan

There are main practices to be carried out before the end of Ramadan. According to the book Fathul Mu'in, there are three main practices in the last ten days of Ramadan. The first three practices are giving more charity, fulfilling the needs of the family, and being kind to relatives and neighbors.

Actually, these practices are not only done in the last 10 days of Ramadan, but also carried out since the beginning of fasting. However, as Ramadan is coming to an end, these three practices should be intensified.

Then the second practice is to read the Quran more. This is the same as what has been explained by Imam An-Nawawi, reading the Quran at the end of the night is better than the beginning of the night. The best time to read the Quran during the day is after the Fajr prayer.

Furthermore, the third practice is to increase i'tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan. According to some scholars of the Shafi'i school of thought, we are allowed to perform i'tikaf at home. This is analogized as the most important voluntary prayer that can be performed at home, so i'tikaf at home should also be carried out.

Prayer to Bid Farewell to Ramadan

The last ten days of Ramadan are the days that indicate that Muslims will soon part with this blessed month. As a farewell, it is recommended to recite a prayer to bid farewell to Ramadan.

Based on a hadith narration from Jabir bin Abdillah radhiyallahu 'anhu from Muhammad al Mustafa, the Prophet Muhammad SAW said, "Whoever recites this prayer on the last night of Ramadan will receive one of two good things: meeting the coming Ramadan or forgiveness and mercy from Allah."

The wording of the prayer is as follows:

أَللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنْ صِيَامِنَا إِيَّاهُ، فَإِنْ جَعَلْتَهُ فَاجْعَلْنِيْ مَرْحُوْمًا وَ لاَ تَجْعَلْنِيْ مَحْرُوْمًا

Allahumma laa taj'alhu aakhiral 'ahdi min shiyaamina iyyaah, fa-in ja'altahu faj'alnii marhuuman wa laa taj'alnii mahruuma.

Meaning: "O Allah, do not make this fast the last one in my life. If You decree otherwise, then make my fast one that is full of mercy, not empty."

That is Aisyah's prayer at the end of Ramadan, complete with the main practices in the last ten days of Ramadan.
