1. Revealed through WhatsApp Chats with Victims

The Banjarnegara Police Chief, AKBP Hendri Yulianto, said that this case was uncovered after the child of one of the victims, PO (53), a resident of Sukabumi, West Java, reported to the Banjarnegara Police on March 27, 2023. The child with the initials GE reported because his father had not returned home.

This report was based on messages sent by the victim via WhatsApp to his other child, SL (GE's sibling), on March 24, informing that he was at Mbah Slamet's house.

In addition, PO also instructed SL and GE to come to Mbah Slamet's house with the authorities if he did not return home by Sunday, March 26, 2023.

2. Claims to be a Money Doubling Shaman

Hendri revealed that the victim PO met the perpetrator in Balun Village, Wanayasa District, Banjarnegara, because he intended to double his money. He obtained information about money doubling from a post on Facebook.

The victim is said to have given offerings to the perpetrator several times. However, the promised money was never given.

Mbah Slamet promised to multiply the Rp70 million that PO deposited to Rp5 billion.

3. Victims Poisoned

Based on the examination results, PO was killed by being given a drink mixed with Potassium cyanide. Mbah Slamet poisoned him because he was constantly being asked for the promised money.

4. Mass Grave

The Banjarnegara Criminal Investigation Unit immediately conducted an investigation and eventually found PO's body buried on a footpath leading to the forest in Balun Village, Wanayasa District, Banjarnegara, on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

The Banjarnegara Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, AKP Bintoro Thio Pratama, said that the victim Mbah Slamet was found buried on the perpetrator's land.

5. Police Find 10 Bodies

The police found 10 bodies buried on the perpetrator's land, ST. Based on detikJateng's observation at the scene, several bodies were buried in one hole.

Some of the bodies are estimated to have been buried for a long time, as only bones remain. The police are still investigating the number of ST's victims.

After being evacuated from the burial site, the bodies were immediately taken to Hj Lasmanah Banjarnegara Hospital for identification.
