Hotman Paris Meets the Richest Tycoon's Child in Indonesia whose Shoe Tape is Broken: Very Rich But My Pants are More Expensive

Dream - Hotman Paris Hutapea accidentally met Armand Wahyudi Hartono, the son of the owner of one of the largest private banks in Indonesia, PT Bank Central Central Asia Tbk (BCA). They met at a club in Bali. 

Armand is the Vice President Director of BCA who is the son of Robert Budi Hartono, the owner of Bank BCA, and also the grandson of Oei Wie Gwan, the founder of Djarum cigarette company and the Hartono Group.

"Mr. Arman at Atlas! He is the child of the owner of Bank BCA and Grand Indonesia!" wrote Hotman on Instagram @hotmanparisofficial.

Hotman greeted him as a tycoon's child. Armand's father is indeed the second richest person in Indonesia. Based on Forbes' Real Time Billionaires data as of Saturday, December 24, 2022, his father's wealth reached US$22.2 billion or Rp346 trillion.

"Hello, I'm with Mr. Armand, the tycoon's child who owns BCA," said Hotman Paris.

Armand's uncle, Michael Hartono, Budi Hartono's brother, is also not joking. He is ranked third among the richest people in Indonesia with his wealth reaching US$21.3 billion or Rp332 trillion).

Budi Hartono and Michael Hartono are known as the Hartono brothers.

"Thank you for coming to the Atlas Beach Festival, okay, thank you," he continued.

"May you continue to succeed, congratulations," said Armand congratulating Hotman.

Hotman joked during their meeting that night that his pants were more expensive than Armand's, who was clearly a rich kid.

"Very rich but my pants are more expensive," said Hotman Paris, making both of them laugh.

Armand is known as a humble rich person. In 2017, Armand caught public attention when he posted a picture of his broken shoes on social media.

"Prepare for anything. Anything can happen, old shoes suddenly torn during the journey, luckily there is tape," wrote Armand Hartono on his Instagram account.

The post became a topic of conversation among netizens who were impressed by his lack of shame and frugal lifestyle.
