Last Moments of Yeti Airlines Passengers Before the Plane Crashed in Nepal, Passengers: 'This is Fun'

Dream - Four Indian citizens who were passengers of Yeti Airlines reportedly live streamed on Facebook before the plane crashed while landing in Pokhara, Nepal, on Sunday, January 15, 2023. They were seen excitedly recording the plane's landing in the video.

The four passengers were named Sonu Jaiswal, Anil Rajbhar, Vishmal Sharma, and Abhisnek Singh Kushaha. They were traveling from Kathmandu to Pohkara.

During the flight, Sonu took the initiative to live stream through his Facebook account. He recorded himself enjoying the view of Pokhara City through the window.

Sonu appeared to be very happy with his journey. Sonu threw conversations with his friends while joking around.

No premonition at all. Sonu even considered their journey to be very enjoyable. "This is very fun," said Sonu as he pointed his phone camera towards the window, as reported by Times of India.

The recording turned towards the cabin, passengers sitting calmly and the voices of Sonu's friends chatting could still be heard. But, everything changed within 25 seconds.

The plane suddenly shook violently. Sonu's phone faced the floor and the sound of passengers screaming could be heard loudly. Within seconds, the plane exploded.

According to eyewitnesses, the plane was flying low towards residential buildings before suddenly making a 90-degree turn. Meanwhile, the plane was reported to have crashed into a ravine.

This Yeti Airlines flight carried 72 passengers, 68 people were declared dead while others are still being searched for. The search for passengers is still ongoing in hopes of finding survivors.

Recording of the Moments the Yeti Airlines Plane Crashed

Dream - Yeti Airlines plane flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara crashed in Nepal on Sunday, January 15, 2023.

Yeti Airlines spokesperson, Sudarshan Bartaula, said the plane was carrying 68 passengers and 4 crew members.

As of now, 67 people have been reported dead in the incident. Gurudatta Dhakal, an official from Kaski district, has confirmed a number of casualties related to this accident.

He also mentioned the presence of survivors. Meanwhile, local news agencies reported that several bodies were found around the scattered wreckage of the plane, which was on fire.

"Officials have arrived at the scene and are trying to extinguish the fire. Currently, all parties are focused on extinguishing the fire and rescuing the survivors," said Dakhal, as quoted from NDTV.

The cause of the Yeti Airlines plane crash is still being investigated by the authorities.

A video allegedly recorded by one of the passengers before the plane crashed went viral on social media.

In the video uploaded by the Twitter account @thestatekhabar, it shows a Yeti Airlines passenger recording the situation inside the cabin until showing the view outside the plane.

When the passenger was live streaming and showing the situation inside the plane, shortly after, the video turned dark and fire could be seen.

It is not yet known whether the recorder survived or became a victim in the incident.
