Rian Mahendra Writes Deep Message for the Late Bu Yayuk, Former Driver of PO Haryanto, Reveals Last WhatsApp Conversation and Mentions Termination

Dream - The departure of Bu Yayuk, a former driver of PO Haryanto, left a deep sorrow for Rian Mahendra, the former Operational Director of PO Haryanto.

Bu Yayuk, who later became a driver at PO Kencana, had served at PO Haryanto for about 6 years. Her full name was Theresia Bekti Rahayu, and she passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023. 

Rian revealed that the night before Bu Yayuk's death, they still had a cheerful conversation and laughter.

Rian greatly admires Bu Yayuk, according to him, Bu Yayuk is one of the drivers who has above-average skills when driving buses at night.

“Although Bu Yayuk's physical strength and endurance are not as strong as her colleagues, Bu Yayuk is one of the crew members who have above-average abilities and sensitivity in thinking compared to other night bus drivers in general,” wrote Rian in his post.

Haji Haryanto's eldest son also uploaded a last WhatsApp conversation with Bu Yayuk, which was written a day before her death on January 13, 2023. They discussed Rian's problems with his father, Haji Haryanto.

Bu Yayuk expressed her concern about the dispute that occurred, which became a public spotlight on social media.

“I was actually shocked, why did your father badmouth you (Rian) on social media. I was really shocked. Does it affect your project, Mas?” Bu Yuyuk asked in a voice message.

In the conversation, Bu Yayuk also mentioned that her car had been pawned for 15 million rupiah, which was planned to cover her debts but was still not enough.

“I pawned my car for 15 million rupiah, Mas... It's to cover my debts, but it's still not enough, I've already pawned it for that amount, but there's no interest. Alhamdulillah for that,” she said.

Dream - Rian Mahendra is no longer serving as the Operational Director of PO Haryanto. He was 'fired' by his father from the company after building the bus business from Kudus, Central Java, for 19 years.

After becoming unemployed, Rian admitted that he did not receive severance pay. He also returned the items borrowed from PO Haryanto, including a car that was only considered as inventory.

"I didn't get any severance pay. It's sad to tell the story,” said Rian in a live broadcast on Instagram, which was shared on the EDU Bus Akap YouTube channel.

Rian also tried to correct the public's perception that he was wealthy. Rian emphasized that he did not have abundant wealth as many people assumed. He was just an employee at PO Haryanto.

He even admitted that he didn't own a house or land. His private vehicle was just a Yamaha NMax bought on credit. There were no family assets under his name.

"I don't even have a land certificate. I only have the BPKB for the NMax, and that's also on credit. I don't have any (assets), I don't have anything. I don't even have a house,” said Rian through his YouTube channel, Rian Mahendra.

Although he had been managing PO Haryanto for 19 years, he admitted that he was too busy advancing the employees, so he didn't have time to enrich himself.

"If I had known, during those 19 years of work, I should have been making money. I could have saved, so that in times like this, I could buy a bus. I was too busy improving the lives of others, making the employees rich, and developing the company, I didn't think about myself," said Rian.

However, from his experience of being unemployed, fortune came through a new opportunity. Rian stated that he got a job as an actor in a music video for singer Nada Sikkah.

Some of the songs sung by Nada have Islamic nuances and are broadcasted through the Neng Nada Official YouTube channel.

Dream - YouTuber and former Operational Director of PO Haryanto, Rian Mahendra, announced his resignation and no longer serves as a director. Rian's departure was due to his father, Haji Haryanto, asking him to step down from the company.

"Why am I not at PO Haryanto? It's because my father (Haji Haryanto) no longer wants me to be at PO Haryanto, it means my duties and responsibilities at PO Haryanto are finished," he said as quoted from the PO Haryanto Official YouTube channel.

The reason for Rian Mahendra's 'termination' was due to internal company issues. He himself did not want to disclose the details as he had to maintain the company's reputation with the public.

"On July 22nd, through a letter that may have circulated on social media, I am no longer associated with PO Haryanto,” said Rian.

Rian's confession surprised many, especially in the bus industry. Nevertheless, Rian accepted his father's decision with an open heart.

"The relationship between father and child cannot be separated by blood ties. But the company is different, this is a worldly matter. If the father as the company's leader doesn't want me there, then so be it. Besides, I've been there for a long time," explained Rian Mahendra.

Rian's presence in PO Haryanto is well-known, as he has been managing PO Haryanto for 19 years. The bus company from Kudus, Central Java, is quite famous in the Indonesian bus community.

PO Haryanto was established in 2003 and was founded directly by his father, Haji Haryanto. It is a family-owned company, and Rian is the eldest child. 

In his video, Rian reminisces about the early days of building routes that were once so busy. Such as opening routes to Pulogadung, Malang, Kartosuro, Madura, and others. Rian has been struggling to manage PO Haryanto since 2003.

"And during my 19 years at PO Haryanto, Alhamdulillah, I have never failed to open a single route," said Rian.
