Viral Tweet by Employee Allegedly Insulting President Jokowi, UNIBI: 'No Longer an Employee'

Dream - The tweet of an employee at the University of Informatics and Business Indonesia (UNIBI) with the initials DL became viral on Twitter. In the post, DL is suspected of making a post with insulting tones towards President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Through his Twitter account @lo**ie, which is no longer accessible, DL wrote an insult to a video featuring Jokowi's face attending the 50th anniversary of PDIP in a post by the account King Purwa on January 12, 2023.

"JADI PENGEN NIMPUK BIBIRNYA PAKE BATAKO" wrote the account, accompanied by a laughing emoticon.

The tweet was then recorded by a netizen with a screenshot that also included the Twitter accounts of Jokowi's sons, Kaesang Pangarep and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"Iki loh mas @kaesanggp mas @gibran_tweet, makhluk yg mau nimpuk bapak pake batako," said @whrlnS.

Gibran responded to the incident casually. "Just relax," wrote Gibran on his Twitter account on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

The post then went viral, prompting the university to issue an official statement through the @Unibiofficial Instagram account. 

The UNIBI party emphasizes that the statement made by DL was done by an individual who does not represent UNIBI.

"We emphasize that all actions/activities/statements carried out or conveyed by related individuals are NOT statements or attitudes that represent UNIBI," wrote the statement on the @unibiofficial Instagram account.

Through the official statement, the university located in Bandung City stated that DL is no longer an employee of UNIBI as of January 14, 2023. Two days after writing insults to Jokowi.

"As of January 14, 2023 at 12.00 WIB, the individual with the account name @l***ie is no longer an employee of UNIBI," the statement said.

The university also asserts that it always upholds the positive values of higher education institutions in the world of education and does not justify any actions that violate academic regulations, university values, or applicable laws.
