Ronny said that Richard's current status is as a client of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights' Correctional Facility (Bapas).

Rika Aprianti, Head of Public Relations and Protocol Division of the Directorate General of Corrections, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, stated that Richard Eliezer is currently undergoing a parole program according to Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No. 7 of 2022, Article 114, which is for a period of 6 months. Therefore, the status of Ferdy Sambo's former subordinate is no longer an inmate.

"Richard Eliezer has started the Parole Program until January 31, 2024. And his status has changed from an inmate to a client of the Correctional Facility. During the Parole Program, Richard Eliezer, as a Bapas client, is obliged to follow the guidance provided by the Correctional Counselor," said Rika.

For information, Richard Eliezer served his detention at the Detention Center of the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Department. He was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months based on the verdict of the South Jakarta District Court.

This sentence is 8 times lighter than the demand of the Public Prosecutor, which was 12 years in prison.

Forensic psychology expert and researcher at ASA Indonesia Institute, Reza Indragiri Amriel, said that Richard Eliezer's police career can only be saved if the judge imposes a maximum sentence of two years in prison.

Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has stated that if a member of the police force is involved in a criminal case and receives a sentence of more than two years in prison, they will be dishonorably discharged (PTDH).

According to Suharto, they are currently processing the registration of Ferdy Sambo's cassation case to be followed by a trial. After that, the Supreme Court will propose a circulating motion for the case.
