List of New Year's Eve 2023 Celebration Locations in Jakarta, Where Do We Want to Go?

Dream - Unlike the previous two years which were still in a pandemic situation, the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) will hold a New Year's Eve celebration at several locations in the capital city. The main celebration will be held at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) which has recently been revitalized.

This amusement park in East Jakarta will hold a music performance located at the Archipelago cultural stage starting at 8 PM.

"For TMII (visitor restrictions), it will be in accordance with the venue's capacity and adjusted to the government regulations regarding New Year's Eve," said Sub-Coordinator of Attractions and Partnerships of DKI Jakarta's Disparekraf Anita Novianti in her statement, quoted on Friday, December 30, 2022.

In addition to TMII, the Jakarta Provincial Government has also designated several locations for New Year's Eve celebrations. A total of 11 places in Jakarta are prepared for New Year's Eve celebration.

11 Places Open for New Year's Eve Celebration

11 places open for New Year's Eve celebration in Jakarta are:

- Thamrin 10, Central Jakarta.

- North Jakarta Mayor's Office, North Jakarta.

- West Jakarta Mayor's Office, West Jakarta.

- Betawi Cultural Village Setu Babakan, South Jakarta.

- Old Shanghai Cakung, East Jakarta.

- Untung Jawa Island, Thousand Islands.

- Monas Area, Central Jakarta.

- Kota Tua Area, West Jakarta.

- Sarinah, Central Jakarta.

- M Bloc, South Jakarta.

- Posbloc, Central Jakarta.

"(Those places) are for those in the city area and coordinated by the Jakarta Provincial Government through the Parekraf Agency. The activities are mostly music. (However, at Monas) there will be dancing fountains and colorful lights until 1 AM," explained Anita.

In addition, Anita explained that Kota Tua will showcase the existing community display in the Museum Sejarah courtyard until 1 AM.

Car Free Night on MH Thamrin-Sudirman Street

Disparekraf will also hold a Car Free Night event titled Malam Muda Mudi (Youth Night) along MH Thamrin-Sudirman Street. In this event, there will be seven stages featuring various genres of music.

Here are the stage locations and the genres of music played.

Stage 1 in the Sarinah area (Jl. MH Thamrin).

Stage 2 in the Bundaran HI area (Intersection of Jl. M.H. Thamrin - Jl. Kebon Kacang Raya) with Pop Top 40 music genre.

Stage 3 in the Dukuh Atas area (Intersection of Jl. M.H. Thamrin - Jl. Purworejo) with Dangdut music genre.

Stage 4 in the JPO Sudirman area (Jl. Jenderal Sudirman) with a 60's music genre.

Stage 5 in the Bendungan Hillir area (Intersection of Jl. Bendungan Hilir - Jl. Jenderal Sudirman) with Jazz music genre.

Stage 6 in the SCBD area (Intersection of Jl. Tulodong Atas 2 - Jl. Jenderal Sudirman) with retro pop music genre.

Stage 7 in the SCBD area (Intersection of Jl. Tulodong Atas 2 - Jl. Pintu Satu Senayan) with Betawi Cultural Tradition genre.

New Year's Eve Celebration at Ancol Taman Impian

Finally, at Ancol Taman Impian, there will be a fireworks party right at 12 AM. Director of Operations of Ancol Taman Impian Eddy Prastyo said that on December 31, 2022, all recreational units in the Ancol area will only operate until 3 PM. After that, the Ancol area will be prepared for the celebration of welcoming 2023.

They are also preparing 63 shuttle buses that will move around the Ancol area and three sets of sato-sati tourist trains that can be accessed by visitors for free.

For the comfort and safety of visitors, Ancol has prepared three ambulances, four tow trucks, six police posts, six health posts, eight lifeguard posts along the beach, and five COVID-19 task force posts.

"According to the permitted regulations, the number of visitors inside Ancol is between 120,000 and 130,000 people. But if there is congestion, we will impose restrictions and stop entry even if it has not reached the maximum limit," said Eddy.
